Summer and body image

Summer is on our door step. The majority of us will be looking forward to warm days and nights, balmy evenings, BBQs, relaxing by the water and enjoying a warm and social time of year.

But….

This time of year can also be a trigger for negative self talk, low self confidence and body judgement. These feelings have the ability to rob us of the joy we deserve to feel.

We fully understand this and we want you guys to know it is normal, but, most importantly we want to help you deal with what can be a challenging time and help you feel your very best!

Feeling grateful

Instead of repeatedly acknowledging the ways you are dissatisfied with your body, consciously identify things you are grateful to your body for.

Embrace your senses

Embrace the sensory overload that summer is and feel the happiness that this season offers us. Fully appreciate the bright colours, the sand between your toes, bare feet on fresh green grass, sunsets and sunrises, the birds, freshly mown lawns. Connect with your senses and push the negative body talk away.

Embrace your inner landscape

Instead of focusing on how your body looks on the outside, focus on how you feel on the inside. Pay attention to how your body feels throughout the day. Warm, cold, relaxed, anxious? Offer your body the best boost to how it’s feeling. Nutritious colourful food, exercise, breathing, being outside, sitting with no distractions, connecting with nature, animals, friends and family.

You only have one body.

Your beautiful body is yours and you have the freedom to dress it, move it and shake it anyway you like! It is all yours, it allows you to breath and live and enjoy life. Speak kindly to it! Go spread those positive body vibes, they will shine as bright as the sun and inspire all of the women around you.

Bring on Summer! Get those togs on and rock it girlfriend! Sarah xx
